Check it out!! I’m blogging for the Advocate! I’m very happy to be here and want to send a shout-out to Mark Roessler for asking, and Tom Vannah for saying it was OK.

I’m here to ruminate on parenting, child care, the crazy life of a working mother, owning a small business and trying to maintain my sanity. Oh, and raising my children with the least amount of scarring possible.

I’ve been an in-home child care provider for nine years and blog about it at sittingonthebaby.com. I also answer parent and provider questions on anything from emotional outbursts to potty training. I hope to do the same here, so please feel free to send questions and comments.

You’ll hear me talking about Dave, my husband, because he’s brilliant and funny. I steal some pretty good material from him. Sorry dear.

But I’m not allowed to talk about my kids. They’re very skeptical of the internet and people knowing their business. So if I do say something about them here, don’t tell.

I’m fascinated with kids and our response to them, and have made it the central work of my life. I’m happy to share some of my very hard-learned lessons with you, the Advocate reader, and hope that I can be of service in some way to get you through the day (or week, or year), living with children. Let’s rock.
