Western Mass. Jobs With Justice is celebrating. It will hold a recognition ceremony at River Valley Market in Northampton on Saturday, April 6 at 9 a.m. to honor 17 Northampton employers who have pledged not to interfere with their employees’ right to organize should they wish to form a union. The drive to get businesses to sign the pledge, led by the Hampshire Workers’ Rights Committee of Springfield-based WMJWJ, has been supported by faith-based and student groups as well as labor organizations. It follows the Northampton Right to Organize resolution that passed the City Council unanimously last summer. Businesses signing on will get a decal (pictured) to put in their windows, and the Hampshire Workers group will continue its efforts to recruit more local businesses.•
