As tempting as it would be to make another list as I did last year on my birthday, I just read it again and I couldn’t possibly come up with much more to tell. It stands as a pretty good piece of who-Sarah-is documentation. I did not change all that much this year.
Things I’ll do on this, my 50th birthday: write, clean up, hang out with family and dear friends, walk to town, do yoga with my pals, go to GoBerry, be feted, blow out a candle (hopefully not 50 of them, but who knows; I am sure to have some helpers if it comes to that), eat sushi, and hang out more. This day is well crafted! Oh, and I think I will be stunned all day and possibly longer that I’m 50, which is just a bunch of years. I’ve done a thing—live. I do this thing—live. I feel beyond lucky and that’s just how it is. I get to do this thing—live. Also, love. I do way more than that, but hey, that’s kind of the punch line, the love part and I really love my life, the people, the things I do, even the annoying parts (mostly).
My pal Karen took me for a pedicure–I chose to sparkle for this big day, my feet at least
If I were to add to my list from last year one more random fact about myself it’s probably this one: 50. I have come to believe, if not perfect nearly at all, that the most helpful thing to do sometimes is shrug because you can’t fix what’s wrong and the other is to speak praise and support out loud. I guess that’s parenting advice, but really it’s life advice. You might listen to me; by 50, I must have accrued some wisdom.
