We’ve all heard of the traveling circus, the destination for generations of dreaming children who want to escape the mundane and step into the larger world. The Nimble Arts Circus Troupe has taken that traveling idea one step further with Ruckus: A Cirque Spectacular. They’ve devised an even more portable circus, designed around a single, freestanding apparatus that facilitates a wide array of wonders: trapeze acts, juggling, aerial performers, partner acrobats and funny characters.

Based in Brattleboro, the eight-member troupe is embarking on a journey around rural towns in New England, with a side trip down to Texas. They stop in Putney on Saturday, hoping to thrill and delight children and adults alike.

Oct. 19, 3 and 7:30 p.m., Landmark College’s Greenhoe Theater, 1 River Road South, Putney, (802) 318-2639, ruckuscircus.com.
