The first “issue” of Live Art Magazine!, a new, annual stage venture with the shape and structure of an art and music magazine, is almost ready for your perusal.

The first few performers set the tone for the evening, with a quick-hitting series of short, concise acts.

The features come next, a series of weightier, more in-depth concepts.

Finally, a burst of excitement and purpose wraps things up, providing a jolt with which the audience and performers will hit the streets. The show’s a one-time event—no recordings of any kind are allowed—and a unique opportunity to grapple with an array of brand-new and in-progress works and performances, from readings to performances to photography, film and live radio.

Presenters include Pulitzer-prize winning poet James Tate, local band Bella’s Bartok, Aretha Aoki (pictured) and Ryan MacDonald, Springfield’s Sci-Tech band, and a host of others.

Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m., The Academy of Music, 274 Main St., Northampton, (413) 584-9032, www.liveartmagazine.org.
