Snowy Morning

Snow on the ground—really? Really.

Also, they are blowing snow at Berkshire East

Overwhelmed a bit this morning by the notion of excess and family and social whirlwinds and work deadlines buried in the mix and the general much too muchness that can characterize this time of year, I find myself staring up at the thick grey-blue and brooding sky and wondering how I might slow us down a wee bit.

Any ideas about how to accomplish this please let me know. Meantime, I’ll be brooding for the duration of the morning.

Three to share: a friend sent this photo to me for the Only in Northampton page. It’s in the bathroom at Grow, our little space in town for babies and young families and Hootenanny and midwives and all that sweetness. There’s a scale in the bathroom with this sign. It seems fitting for the holiday.

I wrote for Brain, Child Magazine’s blog Brain, Mother about one of those moments in family travel that gives you a story forevermore. New Jersey plays a cameo—of course it does.

As you know, my devotion to the Stella sisters runs deep. Here’s one of my favorite recent clips/songs. See y’all on Thanksgiving morning, per Standing in the Shadows’ tradition.
