What do you get when you combine photography with painting, drawing and computer rendering? In the case of Palmer native Kathryn Massey, you get images that ride an interesting line between photo-realism and painted/drawn surfaces—they seem somehow on the verge of becoming photos. The rise of the computer as an artistic tool allowed Massey to realize her vision of multimedia exporations, and 14 of her manipulated images form the exhibition Seeing Beyond: The Photo-Illustrations of Kathryn Massey, her first solo show.
