We walk, bike, and drive past it all the time, but the abundance of art decorating the Valley’s streets deserves more attention than a fleeting glance. There is some amazing work sticking it out in the rain, snow, and sun just to inspire.

To bring more attention to Western Mass’ treasure trove of public art, Advocate staff started a three-county map of creative work, sanctioned and unsanctioned, that you can ramble up to seven days a week and enjoy for free. The following is a highlight of the art we found outside. We hope to add to this map as we learn more about what’s available and where artwork is created. We weren’t able to figure out the artists behind a lot of the public artwork featured here. If you have info about the map’s “unknown” artists – or if you know of some art we should add – drop us a line at hstyles@valleyadvocate.com, or post it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #valleyadvocate.
