Visit from a Dark Horse

As a teenager, Micah Scott was lost in a musical fugue, shuffling his tastes from Creedence Clearwater Revival to The Beatles to Pantera and Alice in Chains and back again. It wasn’t until his guitar teacher turned him on to Blind Lemon Jefferson and Robert Johnson that the die was cast. Now in his late 30s, Scott has settled into roots music in a deep way, co-founding the band The KillBillies and playing greasy dive bars, upscale blues clubs, and music festivals across the land. He recorded his first solo album, Dark Horse, earlier this year, which he’ll be playing from when he stops by the Bookmill for an intimate evening of soulful songs.

Micah Scott: Friday at 8 p.m. $10. Montague Bookmill, 440 Greenfield Road, Montague. (561) 262-1834, montaguebookmill.com/events.html.
