Holyoke’s Waterfront Tavern becomes the site of a full-fledged dance exposition this weekend when it hosts Beatdown Productions’ Ice Breaker 3: Ascen dance.

Three custom stages—featuring breaks, electro, techno; house, jungle, dub, and drum ‘n’ bass; and trance, retro, and mixed genre—showcase more than 30 performers and dancers from all over the New England region, including Encee Fusion, Phibonacci, and Mike D b2b Diwrecked. A multi-genre underground dance contest focuses on break dancing, freestyle, house dance, popping and locking, and is highlighted by special guest judge Jorge “Popmaster Fable” Pabon, of New York City’s Rocksteady Crew. Handmade art and decorations, and sounds and lighting from M.A.D.E., Supreme Sounds, Primate Lighting, and Beatdown Productions, round out this multifaceted, once-a-year Valley event.

Jan. 25, 6 p.m.-2 a.m., $10-$15, 18+, Waterfront Tavern, 920 Main St., Holyoke, (413) 532-2292, waterfronttavern.com, beatdownproductions.net.
