It's a pretty safe bet that sometime in your adult life, you will manage to kill a few houseplants through simple neglect. Though it's easy to forget to pour water over your roommate's African violets every morning, it's pretty hard for even the most dim-witted to ignore a carnivorous plant with a voracious appetite who also holds the deed to your soul—or a musical about a geeky florist's relationship with such a plant. Little Shop of Horrors, a Broadway smash, was immortalized in a screen version by Steve Martin's portrayal of the dentist and Rick Moranis's spot-on, lispy Seymour. Local production group Ja'Duke takes a stab at the modern classic this month.
