Water Not Waste is hosting a meeting this Wednesday, August 5th, 7 p.m. at the Florence Community Center located at 140 Pine Street, in the auditorium, about the petition drive underway for a referendum vote on expanding the Northampton landfill over an acquifer. From Water Not Waste, "Come to the meeting and find out how you can help. It is time for the citizens to demand that their voices be heard on this issue."
To collect signatures, please do the following:

Email to let me know what area/street that you are canvassing for signatures.
Rules to follow when gathering signatures:
- Signatures must come from Registered Northampton Voters ONLY
- Make sure that voters Print their name so that it is easy to read
- Use black ink.
- Make sure that voters use their legal name that they are registered with. This will probably be the same name on their driver's license.
- Nicknames such as Mike instead of Michael will make the signature invalid.
- Get contact info so that if they are not accepted then we can have them resign with correct information.
- Plan to go door to door. You need to get permission to stand outside of Stop and Shop or Big Y.
- We have a permit to be at the Transfer Station on Locust Street, but we can have no more than 4 people at a time.
