I can’t really stay away. This week has been notably busy, with family and holiday brunch and visiting and a deadline and you know, kids small to teens and a certain dear husband’s snowy birthday. The house was notably tidy when we hosted our brunch. The spread was notably amazing.
The house isn’t so tidy now. We require a trip to the co-op, too.
But you know, we had many moments that won’t be swept up with the pieces of stray wrapping paper, moments that are just… ours. That’s the point. Clean up is always possible—at least eventually.

I think she can’t believe it’s true: Barbie.
Meantime, I’ve spent time mulling my work priorities for the next stretch (something I really do way too rarely). I’ve been trying to praise myself every day (it’s hard). I am looking forward to making New Year’s Resolutions (because I like them).
