Charlemont tile-layer Cynthia Fisher has turned her passion for mosaics into a thriving business. After filling her home with mosaics and attending a local CDC business class, she transformed a creative avocation into a lucrative endeavor. Her public art works can be found everywhere from benches in Springfield to hospital walls in Boston and kitchens in New Jersey. A new collection of her personal artwork is on display at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Gallery (it’s a government building, so please bring I.D.). With natural subject matter like owls and shelf mushrooms, Fisher gets back to her roots in wildlife biology and her obvious love for the natural world.
Through June 30, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Gallery, 300 Westgate Center Drive, Hadley, (413) 253-8303, www.bigbangmosaics.com.
