If you need a bestiary in order to catalogue your animals, who better to make one than a disparate group of artists? Curator Rob Kimmel gathered just such a group for the exhibition/bestiary called Horns to Tale. The artists include, among others, Sophie Argetsinger, Rick Beaupre, Amy Johnquest, Amelia Merrill, Colin Panetta, and Lilly Pereira. Horns to Tale isn’t just a reality-bound bestiary — it includes fantastical creatures in addition to the usual zoo.
On June 13, comics scholar and UMass professor Christopher Couch moderates a discussion with the artists, and kids can get in on the beast-making with workshops on three Saturdays in June.
Through June 28; reception June 12, 6 p.m.; discussion June 13, 1 p.m.; workshops for kids June 6, 20, 27, 1 p.m., A.P.E. Gallery, 126 Main St., Northampton, (413) 586-5553.
