Was it a comet? Planetary conjunction? A supernova? Or a sign from God that Jesus had been born? Only the gospel of Matthew mentions the star of Bethlehem appearing over Jesus’ birth manger, harkening people to come meet the new king. People have puzzled over what celestially was going on that night. Springfield Museums intend to dig into this mystery, too.
