“Treat your employees and clients really well and you have your success,” says owner Carissa Derby. Salon 180 East is a one-stop shop for hair, nails, spa, and makeup. They specialize in curly hair, which is a rarity in the industry. “People like to go into the salon. It’s a positive environment and I get to hang out with my girlfriends all day,” Derby says. Originally from Cleveland, Derby loves living and working in the Valley. The salon recently opened a spa room, which houses facials, chemical peel, spray tans, waxing, and eyelash extensions. “The eclectic mix of people and stories that come through the door keeps us striving for greatness,” Derby says.
