Celebrate the Springfield mayor’s recent announcement about Main Street upgrades—"landscaping, street furniture, lighting and resurfacing pavement and sidewalks along Main Street from Lyman to Union streets," as well as $1.3 million set aside for improvements at 31 Elm Street (PDF), pictured at left—by gearing up with some swag from the newly-opened Urban Compass online store.

The store includes a series of items musing, "Maybe our city really is beautiful," highlighting 31 Elm Street. Sometimes we all need a reminder. (The smallest pins are $2; the mug is $13; the poster is $16.)

Also available are a few other items, such as calendars, a blank journal, a Harry and the Potters poster (from their June ’06 performance at the Quad), and some "Season’s Greetings from Springfield, MA" items that show July fireworks upside-down. (Stamps, postcards or blank greeting cards.)

The store’s yearly 2007 wall calendar features a photo taken inside the art building at STCC. If you like variety, check out the month-by-month 2007 wall calendar featuring 12 photos, most previously published in this blog, but also with a couple of new ones not previously published. All feature the city, as usual.
