Northampton's Bistro 186 resides in an unassuming storefront on Main Street. The main business of the Bistro is food, of course, with an emphasis on sandwiches, soups and salads. But lately, music has become a major part of the menu.

On Thursdays, blues singer Susan Angeletti holds forth, and on Fridays from 8 to 11 p.m., things get shaken up in a big way. Ed Vadas used to be a regular phenomenon just around the corner at Bishop's Lounge, but his new stomping ground is Bistro 186.

Vadas joined forces a while back with the very talented player Sue Burkhardt, and together the two are Ameri-MF-cana (the M and F are, they claim, for male and female). Thanks to the duo, Bistro 186 is the place to be if you need regular dose of blues and well-played old-timey acoustic fun.
