EP Release Party: Mystics Anonymous

The Supergroup Next Door

Mystics Anonymous is local singer-songwriter Jeff Steblea’s new musical project, best defined as eclectic independent rock. “With Mystics,” says Steblea, “the whole point was to establish a project where nothing is off-limits.” His bandmates are well-known locally: Matt Silberstein, Brian Marchese, Ken Maiuri, Andrew Goulet, and Patrick Garland pitch in on the band’s frank, funny, and catchy new five-song EP, She Wanted the Future, which blends rootsy acoustic material with jazz elements, harder alternative rock, and more experimental, ambient sounds. Stop by the EP release party to get a hard copy, which comes with cool graphic cover art by Ingrid Steblea.

Mystics Anonymous EP Release Show: Friday at 7:30 p.m. No cover. The Basement, 21 Center St., Northampton. mysticsanonymous.bandcamp.com.
