Stay tuned. More info coming soon!
Instead of having multiple categories, the goal for GBS 2015 is to crown one winner.
Popularity is the only yardstick for this year’s GBS, and any and every kind of music is welcome, with one caveat designed for a creative Valley: no covers.
The contest aims to discover the best original or improvisational Valley musicians. The Advocate started taking nominations in June, but now we’re on to the first round of voting. Our audience will select THE best band in the Valley on Sept. 12 at One Bar & Grill in Northampton.
1st Place
$500 Falcetti Music gift card
A recording session at The Rotary Records in W. Springfield, MA
An additional concert at an all new Falcetti Music performance space in October.
Saturday night gig at One Bar and Grill.
3rd & 4th Place
$100 Falcetti Music gift card
5th through 10th place will receive $50 Falcetti Music gift cards
11th through 25th place will receive $25 Falcetti Music gift cards
Off the Map Tattoo has also generously donated some prizes for us to raffle off at the Slam — gift certificates in increments of $500, $300 and $200, all paired with Off the Map Tattoo goody bags.
So even if you’re not a band you could be in it for some wicked cool prizes!
