As news emerges about a city police brutality case, consultants Jack McDevitt and Amy Farrell, based at Boston’s Northeastern University, are preparing a final draft of a study recommending steps to create a police civilian review board. A presentation by the consultants is slated for Wednesday, January 24, 4:30 pm, in Room 200 of City Hall.

It’s not clear at this point if the consultants have anything new to present since they last appeared before the Finance Control Board at the November 27 meeting, and outlined in great detail their progress thus far.

At Wednesday’s presentation, Springfield Police Commissioner Edward Flynn is also scheduled to speak, not regarding any specific case, but rather about the department’s current investigative process when a citizen complaint arises.
