Register online by Monday, April 23 for an evening Urban Land Institute event taking place in Worcester next Wednesday, April 25 called, "Why Worcester Now?" From the ULI’s Web page on the event:

The formerly sleepy city of Worcester has recently experienced an astonishing renaissance and flurry of development, redevelopment and growth. Join us as we explore the reasons for this dramatic uptick of activity. Why Worcester and why now? Our distinguished panel will let you in on the secrets and give us a sneak peek at what to expect in the next few years in this historic Massachusetts city.

Arrive at 5:00 pm to register at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 25 Foster Street, in the ninth floor Fuller Conference Room. The program is from 5:30 to 6:45, followed by an hour-long cocktail reception.

The speakers are Barbara Smith-Bacon, VP/Project Manager of Berkeley Investments; Charles Monahan, Jr., President of MCPHS; Tim McGourthy, Worcester Director of Economic Development; and Craig Blais, Executive Vice President of the Worcester Business Development Corporation.

Cost to attend for non-ULI-members ranges from $65 (private), $45 (public/non-profit); $35 (young leaders) to $20 (student). The event is hosted by the Boston ULI district council.
