Brian Connors of Springfield’s Office of Planning and Economic Development paid a visit this week to the Pearl Street Condos under development, and got a sneak peek at the model unit now available for viewing. City officials are eager to show people in the region, through photos, that there is already pleasant market-rate housing in the downtown area. Unable to tag along for the visit myself, I offered to publish photos if Connors took any, and here they are.
If you’re interested in seeing the place in person, just drop a line through the developer’s Web site. The 784-square-foot one-bedroom units (floor plan pictured at left) are selling for $114,000, and the 1,115-square-foot two-bedroom units are selling for $149,000. Connors mentioned that this appears to be the first major project for the development team, Sunset Properties LLC, and "they seem to be making a good effort of it."
