Marilyn Manson is a tedious annoyance, but I’ve just noticed something that’s got me thinking. Is it just me, or is Marilyn here starting to resemble, in his own craggy way, late-era Liz Taylor?
I’m not too sure what it might mean, except that the gravity of celebrity homogeneity is taking its toll.
I guess his dumb album title is an attempt to be shocking ala Communion, but does anybody pay this poorly-dressed schlock artist any attention at all? The real warning sticker ought to be: Listener Advisory–devoid of content. He might return to actually shocking somebody if he managed to, say, write a song that doesn’t suck.
