Springfield’s homeless providers have been going through a number of changes in the last several weeks. While I’ve been on a blogging hiatus here during a move from Springfield to Hartford, which took place June 30, on my other blog I’ve been able to maintain a slow trickle of posts.

The first two parts of a photo series shot at Friends of the Homeless, Inc. earlier this spring are up, as well as a bit of coverage of other recent events: an affidavit submitted by Geraldine McCafferty, Springfield’s Deputy Director of Homeless and Special Needs Housing, part of a recent Housing Court case against the city; and a summary of only a handful of some of the ins and outs related to the use of the York Street jail for the Warming Place homeless shelter (now no longer at the jail).

Incidentally, McCafferty’s affidavit chronicles some of the history around what led to the case in the first place, and Michaelann Bewsee’s blog documents some of the same milestones from a different point of view.
