A mayoral debate in Springfield, hosted by the New England Black Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, at the Rebecca Johnson School (pictured) in McKnight starting at 5:30 pm.
The two candidates, Mayor Charles Ryan and challenger Domenic Sarno, will be moderated by Jamel Adkins-Sharif, director of education at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Charter School of Excellence.
Panelists posing questions during the debate will include Kamari Collins of STCC, fundraiser Nathan Davis of United Way of Pioneer Valley, Malcolm Ivy of Hartford-based United Technologies, and programmer/analyst Hendalee Wilson of WNEC. All panelists are billed for the event as Springfield residents and young black men who have “given their time and their talent to the betterment of the city.”
