If you prefer your pints locally brewed and out of the tap, the People's Pint is a lovely place to have food and drink while imbibing the efforts of the local fauna of the musical world.

The Pint is, in some ways, an unlikely spot for music—it's full of hard surfaces, so it's loud when packed with patrons, and there's not a great deal of room for a band. Still, the tables get moved, and some fairly large bands squeeze right in.

The calendar is primarily full of folk and jazz, genres which fill the space without overwhelming it in the volume department. Regular jam sessions happen at the Pint on Sundays, when the Celtic contingent takes over. At other, non-weekly sessions, you can hear old-time or Quebecois music.

Jazz fills several upcoming Thursdays with Muse Jazz Trio (Jan. 10), Larry Klein (Jan. 17), and Interplay (Feb. 7, pictured) taking the stage.
