Laura Holland’s photos of Berlin and Leipzig, Germany, focus on small-scale views of old architecture in modern Germany. It’s a fast-changing urban landscape of very old and very new.
Holland says, “One day, you may see layers of graffiti sprayed across a beautifully carved, but completely battered, wooden door. Days later, new layers of graffiti may cover the walls, or the doorway may be pristinely painted over and polished up, or the entire building may be demolished.”
Holland’s exhibit, Vanishing Fast: Photographs from Berlin and Leipzig, is at the Jones Library for most of March.
