Enchanted April, which premiered in Hartford, is the story of two World War II-era British women who meet at a social club. The pair, tired of their stuffy lives, decide to rent an Italian castle for the month of April, along with two other women. All four experience renewal and rediscovery amid the Mediterranean splendor of Italy. The highly praised, often funny play is by Matthew Barber, adapted from the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim.
