I was flitting around Pandagon, home blog of soon-to-be-MAID-contributor Amanda Marcotte, and found my way to this video from Jay Smooth, who writes a hip-hop vlog called Ill Doctrine.

He’s talking about Barack Obama’s recent speech on race (which I "jizzed on," as my wife put it, in this post), and while he doesn’t say anything radically original, there’s just something appealing about his whole gestalt. He has that late night talk show host ability to just make you feel comfortable and reassured.

He also points out, as I’ve tried to do in various ways, and as Obama did more eloquently than either of us, that it is possible to talk politics with people with whom you disagree without it devolving into a shouting (or pissing) match.

Oh, what the hell. While we’re on the subject, I find this video very funny.
