Don't be alarmed when the ground begins to shake in Northampton this Sunday. The seismic activity usually associated with the San Andreas Fault is the result of 10 dance companies and schools prancing to and fro for the semi-annual Just for Kicks performance to benefit the Northampton Center for the Arts. Among the many toe-tappers on the roster are members of the Mass Academy of Ballet, the New England Dance Quarters (NEDQ) Hip Hop and Performance Troupe, the Terpsichore Ensemble (pictured), the Dance Project, and the Northampton School of Dance.

If the dance fest isn't enough to lure you to the Center, later in the day the Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (FFIPP) hosts its sixth anniversary celebration: A Shared Vision: Through the Lens of Women Activists. The event features presentations by Israeli photographer Esti Tzal and Palestinian filmmaker Rima Essa. FFIPP student interns who traveled to the region in the summer of 2007 will also discuss their volunteer work.

March 30, Just For Kicks: 2 p.m., $4/kids, $7/general; A Shared Vision: Through the Lens of Women Activists: 6-9 p.m., suggested donations: $5/students, $15/general, $25/couple, Northampton Center for the Arts, 17 New South St., Northampton, (413) 584-7327, www.nohoarts.com.
