So I had a chance to sit down and talk with Robert Jensen last weekend, which was surprising and refreshing, and which I’ll go into in depth this weekend. Among the things we talked about though, was whether he was, in his recent anti-porn, anti-masculinity book, "Getting Off," simply preaching to the converted, after which I told him about Dan and my short tenure writing for Glenn Sacks’ site and trying to establish meaningful dialogue with men’s rights advocates. Jensen made the point that he’s not exactly preaching to the converted, as a radical feminist and ecologist, he’s trying to encourage a small number of the "converted" to become radicalized, to start a cadre, to start the slow, revolutionary process of transforming the world for the better. While I neither have such grand aims or hopes in my work, our conversation made me realize that while I’m not likely to change any minds over at glennsacks.com, I’ve been spending my time and energy over there instead of having the meaningful, silly, fun, hard conversations we have over here, so today I wrote my second and last post for Glenn.
