Council rejects sponsoring public forums on the proposed landfill expansion on a 5-3 vote

At Thursday’s City Council meeting in Northampton there will be a request from Councilor Michael Bardsley to remove tabling of the Resolution regarding City Council responsibility for holding public meetings on the proposed landfill expansion.
Whether you support or oppose the proposed expansion, the public comment period prior to the meeting at 7:15 PM would be a good time to let your thoughts be known.

Also, CITIZENS UNITED FOR A HEALTHY FUTURE will be holding a FUNDRAISER YARDSALE on
Saturday, May 17th, 2008, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
238 Glendale Road, Florence.

This too would be a good time for people who support the proposed landfill expansion, or perhaps are uncertain about it, to speak with those face-to-face who live near it and oppose it.
