Community Preservation Committee Announces

Round Two Funding Recommendations,

Changes in Committee Schedule

At its June 18th meeting, the Northampton Community Preservation Committee voted to recommend spending $445,877 to support nine separate projects in the areas of historic preservation, affordable housing, open space and recreation. [See below for full details.] The next step in the CPA process is for the committee to present its recommendations to the mayor, which it will do shortly.

Earlier, at its May 21st meeting, the Community Preservation Committee voted to reduce the number of funding rounds in 2008 from four to three. Eligibility Forms for Round Three are due on Tuesday. August 12th. Applications for eligible projects will be due on Friday, September 12.

The committee has also voted to increase its meeting schedule from one to two meetings each month. Meetings will now take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The additional meeting will give the committee more time to ensure that the work of the Community Preservation Act is carried out in the most effective and careful way.

For more information, please contact Jack Hornor, chair of the committee, at (413) 584-5403 or Jack@JackHornor.com.
