Poetry seldom fills stadiums. That is largely a shame, but it brings the advantage of seeing even big-name poets in small venues. This week offers a fine chance to do that when the widely respected poet Galway Kinnell reads from his work at Shelburne Falls’ Mocha Maya’s. Kinnell, a Vermont resident, is often anthologized and is a shrewd practitioner of ars poetica. He’s also a chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. His latest book is Strong Is Your Hold.
