Just a reminder: A public forum on Northampton’s proposed landfill expansion will take place on Tuesday July 15, 2008 at 7 PM at the JFK Middle School Community room on Bridge Road in Florence.
The forum will be hosted by the Paradise City Forum and co-sponsored by the Northampton Board of Public Works and Citizens United for a Healthy Future. It will be advertised as a special meeting of the BPW as a quorum of their members are expected to attend in order to discuss substantive issues. The forum will be recorded by NCTV and submitted to the city council as part of the public record.
Panelists include geology professor Dr. Robert Newton representing the Barnes Aquifer Protection Advisory Committee and Dr. Peter Shanahan, environmental engineer and earth scientist for HydroAnalysis Inc. of Acton, Massachusetts.
annalise fonza, a Ph. D. candidate in the Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst will serve as guest moderator.
