There are few things in life that are finer than a free meal with ingredients grown and produced locally and prepared by local chefs. Greenfield’s Annual Harvest Supper is now in its fourth year. Along with free grub, there is live music and a Really, Really Free Market for anyone who has been struggling just to buy groceries. Local farmers donate food and the Center for Self-Reliance Food Pantry distributes coupons to use at the market. In order to cut down on the carbon footprint, diners are asked to bring their own place settings. Bon appetit!

 Aug. 17, 5-7 p.m., Greenfield Town Common, Greenfield, www.freeharvestsupper.org.
