The word "eroica" is Italian for "heroic," and the three women of the Eroica Trio have proven fairly heroic themselves—they're Grammy winners, and they've even got their own Grand Marnier-based cocktail. The much-praised piano trio sometimes spans 300 years of musical history in its shows, offering everything from Vivaldi and Beethoven to contemporary compositions.
One of the beauties of seeing performances at Great Barrington's Club Helsinki is the club's small space—if you like to see top-notch players close enough to get rosin from violin bows on your sleeve, this ought to be an especially good time and place to catch Eroica.
