Jamie asked me a while back to write a post explaining why I'm not writing posts anymore (this is Dan, by the way, former man-in-arms of Jamie). I didn't do it until now for the simple reason that I'm a bit ashamed a) to have quit blogging, and b) to have done it so abruptly, with no warning and no explanation. Not a very manly way to go out, ay?
Anyway, the reasons I stopped blogging are pretty simple. It wasn't feeling exciting to me anymore, and even though it didn't take up too much of my time, the sense of obligation to blog, and the guilt when I didn't live up to that sense of obligation, were more and more feeling like a burden. I really enjoyed the blog for the better part of two years, and then enjoyed and resented it for a while, and then when the balance tipped a little further in the resentment direction, I realized it was time to let go.
So … I'm glad to see that Jamie's kept the man-blogging going, and maybe I'll check in now and then, but for now, I'm outie. Oh, and here's the trailer for the upcoming retro-pomo Blaxploitation film Black Dynamite. I think it's pretty funny.
