Back in '91, Win Wenders' Until The End of the World posited a future technology to record dreams. Stunning, but it seems impossible–brain waves seem to indicate things that are way more general than a very specific image. How could the brain possibly carry readable signals that specific? Yet something is different when the brain perceives specific images, so maybe it can happen.

And now scientists seem to have taken a quite significant step toward dream recording. Wow!

This does raise a troubling question, though–if you can read dream images, what else can you read? And just how much drool has dripped from the incisors of the proponents of our emerging surveillance state?
