That's the thing that baffles me about the brouhaha about the above NY Post cartoon: How couldit not be construed as anything but a representation of the president as a chimp, gunned down by two white cops to boot. I mean, people are actually debating the issue. Another question I have is not who the artist was who could make such awork – racist assholes are a dime a dozen of course- but who the editor whas who decided to run it. Apparently it was this guy, Col Allen, an old Aussie associate of Rupert Murdoch, and word on the street is that his days at the Post are numbered. Apparently Murdoch, going soft in his old age, is something of a Barack fan. And here's a nifty collection of other comics by Sean Delonas, who, apparently, is usually much bigger into xeno- and homo- phobia than racism.
