Amherst artist Oriole Farb Feshbach has put a unique twist on traditional portraiture in her exhibition Echoes: Portraits of the Female Spirit. Feshbach combines offset lithography, a traditional printing technique, with media such as collage, pastel and photography to create portraits. The composite works often incorporate portraits of early Americans and historical figures. Although the exhibition at the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts is close to home, Feshbach’s work has been on display nationwide, and is in the permanent collections of museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Denver Art Museum.
