What do children’s toys, massive snow globe prints and mind-bending sculptures have in common? These media and more are showcased at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center this spring and summer.

Playing Around is a group show which embraces childhood imagination in a myriad of forms in the Main Gallery. Glorious kaleidoscopic sculptures of light and glass and common household objects by Stephen Knapp and Lisa Hoke fill the Center and South Galleries. Illustrator Beth Krommes’ original artwork is featured in the Activist Gallery, and it appeals to young and old alike, thanks to her mastery of line work and depictions of the wonders of nature. Lastly, Winter Thunder, the steel steed of Joseph Fichter, asserts its stature outside of the museum’s walls.

Through July 26, Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, 10 Vernon St., Brattleboro, (802) 257-0124, www.brattleboromuseum.org.
