Because I just know, that's how.

Because I can see into his soul and that his Christianity is pragmatic at best. Because I've read his book and his "finding" a church was a bout finding an organization through which he could get things done, plain and simple.

Nope, the leader of the United States of America does NOT believe in "in god we trust" (lower case "g" intentional). He's a secular humanist, with maybe even a slight existential bent, and he's a good person who does good for its own sake not because some comic book superhero will strike him down if he doesn't. And I love him for it.

Of course, this is all in response to yesterday's national day of prayer brouhaha. (In case you missed, it, the president failed to gag us with Christianity on National Prayer Day yesterday, which really pissed off some god-fearing folk. Gosh "god-fearing" is a perfect term for these people – they fear god because they do bad bad deeds. See this and other studies, for example, that say that churchgoing 'mercans are much more likely than others to see torture as acceptable.

I was channel surfing yesterday and heard Bill O' grilling some godless liberal: "So prayer is good right? And Obama is a good man, yes? So why won't he pray." God, I hate that man. Which is not to say that I'm telling god that I hate that man, just using it as an exclamation, as in "God, I hate Bill O'Reilly. God, god, if you really exist, show my by smiting that piece of shit Bill O'Reilly.

Okay, rant over. Oh, one more thing, tangentially related: I've always wanted to make a line of bumper stickers that would piss EVERYONE off. So far the only one I've come up with is:

KILL GOD NOT BABIES.

(think about it) Anyone know a cheap printer?
