James Frey is continuing to reap the rewards of being spoken of by Oprah – now she's apologizing for the well-earned bashing she gave him on her show a couple years back. I was kinda obsessed with him and his duplicity for a while. Well, I've only been impressed with Ms. W. once, and now she's undone that once.

This week, the Gold Show has been on what seems like multiple times a day. One additional thought about it is that the show, which focuses on/encourages panic about the U.S. economy being in freefall, clearly supports the collapse of the dollar and the economic system behind it. While I don't necessarily think that's a completely un-viable position for a radio station (WHMP) and a network (Air America) to support, I firmly believe that both entities need to own up to the fact that they are indeed doing just that. WHMP, moreso, in that they have, again, a half-hour infomercial posing as a news show, but Air America too – in having its hosts hype gold as, again, something that will protect and keep you in hard times (that are only going to get worse, is the suggestion) – is certainly complicit as well. Air America's support of gold and bashing of the dollar is especially hypocritical in light of how heartily the network and its hosts supposedly suppor the president and polical party currently in power.
