For 15 years the art community of New England has gathered at the Paradise City Arts Festival, a “fair of fine and functional art.” 250 artists from 30 states selected to participate in the festival exhibit works in ceramics, painting, fiber, glass, furniture, jewelry, leather, metal, photography and sculpture. This year features a gardening theme: “Springtime in Paradise.”
Paradise City also provides entertainment, with jazz from the Charles Neville Band, the Jeff Holmes Big Band and Jeff Dostal’s jazz quartet, plus short plays from the New Century Theatre and Paintbox Theatre. Northampton’s restaurants provide the cuisine, and a silent art auction benefits Springfield public television station WGBY.
