She could be described as the best possible result of a power couple. Daughter of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossalini, actress, model, activist and writer Isabella Rossalini (born in 1952) has turned out a career that has produced some remarkable photographs, a couple of prestigious awards, and three books.

Her most recent project is her best yet. She has written, directed, produced and starred in a series of under-two-minute short films she calls Green Porno for the Sundance Channel. There have been two seasons so far, and each episode of each season explores the sexual habits of a different animal (season one deals with creepy crawlies, season two deals with marine animals). In each episode, Rossalini dresses up in elementary-school-production-grade costumes and has "sex" as the creature she purports to be. Some episodes are beautiful and highlight Rossalini's ability to manipulate her face and her physical awareness. Others are just plain batshit crazy.

Here, Rossalini explores the mating habits of the hermaphroditic limpet:

Here, she explains the reason for vaginas (there are big paper animal penii in this one, so maybe NSFW?):

Here she explores the reproductive habits of barnacles:

Into S&M? You may have more in common with a snail than you think (NSFW for snail sex):

The female centric world of commune living, penis-snapping-off bees is explored:

This one's pretty weird. Praying mantis. Head eating. Nuff said:
