A host of voices in harmony is perhaps one of the most spine-tingling musical experiences an audience can take in, especially in an acoustically superior room. Composers of sacred music (and architects of churches and cathedrals) have understood this for centuries, and have made every effort to make use of all the tools at their disposal. This weekend, the 24-member vocal group Schola Nova performs Benjamin Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb" and Arvo Part's "De Profundis," as well as works by Distler, Scarlatti and others. Terry Larsen directs.
