Instructors from the Juniper Summer Writing Institute will read selections from their work this week. Readers include University of Massachusetts professors, visiting professors from Iowa Writers' Workshop, Carnegie Mellon and others, winners and recipients of many prestigious prizes and fellowships including the Pushcart Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, the Nebula Award and Guggenheim fellowships. Local writers include Dara Wier, Noy Holland, Chris Bachelder, Kelly Link, Lisa Olstein, Alex Phillips, James Tate, Arisa White and Holly Black (pictured, of The Spiderwick Chronicles fame). The Juniper Summer Writing Institute is a summer writing workshop in fiction, poetry and memoir, and is hosted by the UMass MFA program in creative writing.
